Celebrating Camp Live Oak’s 35th Anniversary!

Tickets are available now for Camp Live Oak’s 35th Anniversary Party “Under The Banyan Tree” taking place on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Chima Steakhouse. We look forward to having the community come together for this milestone celebration and to recognize the Honorees who have made exceptional contributions to the preservation of our city’s beautiful parks and green spaces.    

Honorees:

Jim Ellis – Green Ambassador Award

Jim Ellis gives his talent, time, and resources to charitable causes in the communities he works and lives in. He co-founded the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Coalition, and in early 2019, Mr. Ellis founded Friends for a Safer Greener Fort Lauderdale and spearheaded the community-led effort for the approval of the City of Fort Lauderdale’s $100 million Public Safety bond and $200 million Parks bond.

Hugh Taylor Birch State Park – Conservation Partner

Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is Fort Lauderdale’s own “Central Park” and the home of Camp Live Oak for 35 years. It’s an oasis perfect for campers to take in nature whether hiking, camping, fishing, or exploring at the beach. The Park Rangers onsite work to maintain the native landscaping and ensure conservation measures are in place to preserve the 180 acres for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.
